CIMIC Connect 4.1

The Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center, also known as CIMIC, is a religious, not-for-profit organization affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America.

The primary objective of CIMIC is to advance the principles of Islam and cater to the needs of Muslims in East Central Illinois. The center's mission includes coordinating local Muslim initiatives, creating educational opportunities for Muslims of all age groups, fostering a constructive image of Islam within American society, as well as advocating for camaraderie, impartiality, and justice.

The gatherings orchestrated by dedicated volunteers at the mosque cater not only to the Muslim population in Central Illinois but also extend to the broader Champaign-Urbana community. CIMIC is committed to fostering an enriching educational setting, promoting a welcoming social atmosphere for families, engaging in interfaith collaborations with the wider community, and actively participating in social causes.

Facilities at CIMIC encompass a well-equipped library, various classrooms, and a multipurpose area. These spaces are utilized for purposes such as Weekend Islamic School for children, an Arabic school open to individuals of all ages, and English language classes tailored for immigrants. Additionally, the premises host tae-kwon-do sessions twice a week along with ping-pong tournaments and youth-focused activities. The mosque also serves as a venue for intimate weddings, Eid festivities, and daily iftar gatherings during Ramadan.
